Baby Judah Rhodes

Just wanted to fill everyone in...I was scheduled for induction this morning but ended up going into labor on my own. After epidural, a nap and about 15 minutes of pushing...Judah arrived! He's 9lb 11oz and 21.5in born at 11:25am. We are both happy and healthy. He is two pounds bigger than Hosanna was and I thought she was a tank! He has the biggest hands and feet I've ever seen on a baby...he is absolutly perfect.
Thank you to all who have been praying and for all the love and support. We have the greatest family and friends...God has truly blessed us!

Our big day....

Just wanted to start off today by letting everyone know that we are currently in the hospital! I was scheduled for induction this morning at 6 am, but I started going into labor around 3:30am. We got to the hospital just before 5 am and I couldn't get that epidural fast enough! I'm about 6cm right now and probably won't be putting anymore updates online until after Judah arrives. We love you all and ask that you continue to pray for a safe, healthy delivery!

Not to be forgotten....

I realized in all the hustle and bustle of preparing for baby Judah, that I haven't posted anything about Jeremiah's birthday! There is a link to the right for a slide show of pics from his birthday. He had a wonderful time and was blessed to have many, many, many family and friends join him.
I am amazed that we have a five year old...it's absolutely crazy!

What's going on?!

So I have received many inquires as to what is going on with me and baby. NOTHING! I wish I could say he was born and we are home and happy....it's all true except the part about him being born. We made a few more visits to the hospital since my last post. The problem still remains, my body wants to go into labor and it does...it just decides to only go so far and then stops. Last night I actually continued to have consistant contractions every 1.5 minutes, but I wouldn't dialate. So I am home, still contracting and waiting for things to open up....hahaha...Keep checking on me, you never know...someday he has to come out!

Update on baby...

Hello all,
I just thought I would post a little update on the situation with baby Judah. He has not been born yet and were are canceling our induction for tomorrow. The doc called this morning and the numbers were not good from my amnio. Baby Judah's lungs are just not healthy enough for the outside world.
I am not at all frustrated or disappointed. I am just mostly concerned that he be healthy and we not have a repeat of what we went through with our now 3 year old, Alison. For those of you who don't know, Alison came on her own at 36 weeks and was blue when she was born. I was able to see her for a brief moment before they rushed her off and then transported her to another hospital where she spent nine days in the NICU.She is a healthy, vibrant little girl now, but the memory of all the struggles and possibility of losing her are all flooding back.

I know that God is in control of this life I live and only he know what's going on. I am confident that he will continue to provide strength and wisdom for John and I as we go through this journey with Judah. I will be strong and patient, I know I can handle being pregnant as long as I need so little Judah can come into this world safely.
Please continue to keep us in your prayers. We love and appreciate you all. As we get updates form our doctor, we will try to keep you updated as well.
Thanks and God bless,
Krystal and John

Amnio day

Today I had my amniocentesis. Basically it consisted of getting monitored for about an hour or so and then Dr. Jake came in and took a look at things. He used the ultra sound machine to find an appropriate pocket of amniotic fluid. BTW- Judah is looking great! It was a nice treat to see the little guy on the monitor.
Once the pocket was found they used sterile procedures to insert a large needle into my belly and remove a decent amount of amniotic fluid. It wasn't as painful as it was uncomfortable. And that needle was quiet large! Probably a good 6 inches long.

Afterwards they monitored me some more to make sure they hadn't disrupted things too much and then they let me go home.

Now we just wait while my fluid takes a trip to Spokane for testing. Once Dr. Jake gets the results back then we will know if we can proceed with an induction on Thursday or not.

Getting close to the end...

Well, on Monday we will have our amnio to see if baby Judah's lungs are ready for air. If all goes well, then I sill be induced on Thursday. We'll keep you posted!

Small update...

Just thought I would let everyone know that we are still playing the waiting game for baby Judah. This week will be the "safe" point if I were to go into actual labor. We are just trying to patient and know that everyday he is in there is better for him and means a healthier baby. Now that I actually said that, I can say....it's not easy. Thanks for all the prayers, support, meals, help with kids, ect. We love you all!
